Whitham Mills Engineering Ltd for an Apprentice Engineer Draftsman to join its friendly team in Middleton. Draftsmen compile technical documents and drawings. In doing so, they are supported by various software programs. The conduction of technical calculations, the making of perspective representations and the assessment of manufacturing processes.

You will learn about the comprehensive CAD/CAM design with the training objective of becoming a draftsman (m/f) with a secure future as a CAD/CAM designer. As an apprentice draftsperson you will initially gain an understanding of the scope and requirements for any project within the drawing office by working closely with skilled drawing office staff. Skills to be trained on… Sheet metal fabrication principles. Departmental training throughout the business. Auto-cad, two-dimensional modelling and 2d drafting leading to Creo-3, three-dimensional drafting. Once drawings have been completed, they are presented to the project leader / builder for review.

Prepare technical drawings and assemblies (2d initially) that will be used within manufacturing. Liaising closely with the drawing office team, purchasing and production. Progress reports and drawing completion timelines detailed to the drawing office team. Ensuring timely completion of all allocated projects whilst working closely with the drawing office team. The successful candidates will be enthusiastic, keen to learn and work well in a team. Full training to be provided.

Desired skills
An interest in things mechanical or experience regarding engineering would be beneficial.
