Apprentice HR Support (Level 3) required by Rochdale Council. To provide a polite, efficient and responsive service and deal with enquiries and request for both written and verbal from a wide range of internal and external customers.

Vacancy description

  • To undertake a development programme (both on and off site) including participation in required training and learning leading to a HR Support Apprenticeship
  • Provide a polite, efficient and responsive service and deal with enquiries and request for information both written and verbal from a wide range of internal and external customers
  • Use a variety of software packages and systems when dealing with customer enquiries and providing management information across a range of operational and advisory areas
  • Produce a range of documents including letters, emails, spreadsheets, forms and other written documentation as required Assist with the updating, maintenance and extraction of information from manual and electronic information systems accurately as required
  • Undertake research and collate information as required to support the team and service aims and objectives
  • To undertake general administrative duties including data management, photocopying, emailing and scanning
  • To maintain a high level of confidentiality in line with service requirements
  • To work within the Information and Governance and Data Protection Framework and policies
  • To ensure that all work is undertaken to prescribed standards and timescales and  which conform with security standards an protocols
  • To keep up to date with relevant HR legislative changes
  • To take part in the continuous review to develop and improve systems, processes and services in pursuit of excellent service delivery

Secondary Duties

  • To participate in Council programmes of in-service training as a trainee and when required as a trainer facilitator
  • To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined from time to time by the Service Head (or nominated representative) in consultation with the postholder (and if he/she so wishes, with his/her Trade Union representative)

Things to consider

The post is for 18 months, £9000.00 for the first 12 months, the final 6 months at NMW. Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for £3.70 (from 1st April 2018) per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
