D.Turner & Son are machine movers and have been operating in the machine removal and heavy machine lifting industry for over 45 years and have developed an excellent reputation for safe and reliable dismantling, removal, lifting and handling, transportation, installation and commissioning of machinery, plant and equipment. They project manage turn-key solutions (as principle contractor) or are happy to provide individual services by working closely with another principle contractor. They provide machinery relocation and related services to a broad range of customers operating within a wide range of industries from Manufacturing through to Health.

Under constant supervision you will be involved in the installation of a wide range of heavy machinery. 

Duties will include:

  • Dismantle/assemble heavy machinery or equipment using a wide range of plant and tooling equipment.
  • Alignment and testing of equipment, making any adjustments as necessary.
  • Repair or replace defective parts on a machine
  • Assist in carrying out daily operation and maintenance tasks
  • Adhering to all relevant Health and Safety policy and legislation whilst working on site.
  • Ability to follow Risk Assessments and method statements
  • Follow and adhere to Toolbox Talks and any specific company instructions
  • Attend on-going industry recognised training, such as CPCS,NPORS
  • Perform all ad-hoc duties as required

You will attend our training centre in Rochdale (OL16 5NA) to take our aptitude assessment (this is also where your training will take place)
Your CV is then sent to potential employers The employer decides who they want to interview

How we will support you;

Full training and support will be provided by Rochdale Training Association to help you attain your Apprenticeship and progress. Our Engineering tutors will visit you in your place of work to fully support you.
