An Apprentice Maintenance Engineer required to support the engineering team in the efficient and effective maintenance and repair of our plant and equipment whilst continually developing ideas to improve performance

Vacancy description

As an apprentice engineer at Guenther Bakeries UK Limited you will gain the skills required to maintain an automated operation of equipment performance and reliability through planned preventative maintenance, continuous improvement, reactive fault finding and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • To successfully complete the Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme, to include all elements of the Apprenticeship Framework relevant to the chosen engineering discipline.
  • To learn the principles of engineering both academic and practical.
  • To attend all classroom and workshop based training.
  • To work competently and safely in order to develop necessary engineering technical skills and knowledge, functional skill and behaviours to become deemed competent as an engineer.
  • To apply appropriate skills while gaining experience and demonstrate confidence to raise concerns and/or issues on site and at College.
  • To perform all duties in accordance with Guenther Bakeries policies, generic and specific risk assessments, Health & Safety Requirements and work instructions.

  • You will attend our training centre in Rochdale (OL16 5NA) to take our aptitude assessment (this is also where your training will take place)
  • Your CV is then sent to potential employers
  • The employer decides who they want to interview

How we will support you;

Full training and support will be provided by Rochdale Training Association to help you attain your Apprenticeship and progress. Our Engineering tutors will visit you in your place of work to fully support you.

National Apprenticeship Week 4th-8th March 2019 - We are holding an Open Day/Evening on Monday 4th March 2019 from 10am - 7.30pm. Come along and speak to our tutors and ask questions! You will be able to take a look around our engineering workshop.
