The Raising Participation & Skills Team works with schools, college, parents and Greater Manchester Councils to ensure young people access high quality educational pathways after school. The team also leads on the Apprenticeship programme for the council and schools and ensures Careers Information, Advice and Guidance provision is delivered.

Vacancy description

  1. To support associated Apprenticeship training programme
  2. Support the internal Apprenticeship recruitment programme process.
Duties to include;

  • Recruitment process; sharing of vacancies, facilitation of inteviews, internal verification checks, liasing with HR and other associated duties
  • Organisation of induction/welcome events for all Apprentices, including those based in maintained schools
  • Contribute to monitoring and improvement of plan reports for all Apprenticeships placements, to include maintained schools To help support and guide all Apprentices and line managers, including maintained school staff with any issues that arise
  • Any other such duties in relation to the programme

  1. Efficient processing of applications for Apprenticeships from Rochdale Apprenticeship website
  2. Maintenance of up to date records of applications from the Rochdale Apprenticeship website
  3. Generation of quarterly Apprenticeship application reports from the Rochdale Apprenticeship website
  4. Management of Rochdale Apprenticeships social media accounts to promote Apprenticeships and relevant vacancies in the Borough
  5. Facilitation of relevant promotional materials associated with the Raising Participation team such as Apprenticeship and alternative provision brochures
  6. Support the Raising Participation team in attending relevant meetings, minute taking and production of reports
  7. Supporting all members of the Raising Participation and Skills Team with statutory duties linked to careers and post-16 education
  8. Support the Raising Participation team to ensure effective budget and finance monitoring to include; placing orders, raising purchase orders, invoice processing and maintaining financial databases
  9. Attendance at school events/meetings as appropriate, supporting or representing the Raising Participation and Skills Team To be familiar with a range of IT systems
  10. To undertake any other such duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined by the line manager and other members of the Raising Participation Team in consultation with the post holder and if she/he wishes with her/his trade union representative

Desired qualifications  

  • GCSE's Grade C/4 or above including English and Maths, or equivalent.

  • Apprentice grade for the first 12 months, rising to NMW for the final 6 months of an 18 month contract.
