Qualsafe First Aid at Work

Who is this course aimed at?

This accredited qualification is ideal for those already working or preparing to work within industry wishing to become a First Aider in the workplace for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (NI) 1982.

Content:

The roles and responsibilities of the First Aider; assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness, assisting a casualty who is suffering from major injury and illness, chest injuries, spinal injuries and anaphylaxis.

Aims and Objectives of the course:

Attendees will gain knowledge of:
  • Recovery position & CPR
  • Seizures
  • Choking
  • External Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Cuts and Grazes
  • Completion of an accident report form
  • Fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains
  • Spinal, Chest, Head & Eye injuries
  • Burns
  • Sudden Poisoning
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Major illness such as heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes

Method: 

Classroom tuition.  The qualification is assessed via on-going oral and/ written questioning, and practical demonstration.

Duration:

3 Days

Achievement: 

All successful students will be issued with a Qualsafe First Aid at Work Certificate, along with a wallet-sized plastic card detailing their qualification. This will be valid for 3 years.
