Power Press Safety Training 

Who is this course aimed at?

Power Press Safety training course is intended for power press tool setters and other personnel requiring training under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.

Content:

  • The basic requirements of the legislation associated with setting and operation of Power Presses.
  • The causes of accidents with Power Presses and the losses incurred
  • Basic operating mechanisms of Power Presses with particular reference to clutch systems, braking systems, principal components and their interrelationship. 
  • Methods of operating Power Presses 
  • Key features of press guarding systems referring to: Fixed Guards, Interlocking Gate Guards (Electrical, Mechanical), Automatic guards, Photoelectric Curtains 
  • Understanding the concept of the closed tool.
  • Safety Inspection of Power Presses
  • Principles relating to thorough examination 
  • Demonstrate competence in the safe setting Power Presses and related adjustment

Aims and Objectives of the course:

Delegates will be able to fully understand and adhere to the legal standards when using Power Press machines.
Provides knowledge and understanding of power press mechanisms and safety devices as well as understanding causes of accidents and the preventative measures that need to be taken.

On completion of the tests, you will be provided with a Certificate of training.

Delegate experience: 

Delegates should have practical experience of using power press equipment before attending this course
