Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Provide a secure, caring and friendly stimulating educational environment
To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager.
Ensure children’s records are kept up to date
Act as a positive practice role model to ensure that the nursery values are maintained.
Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness at all times
Ensure that all rooms and outside areas are clean and tidy after use
Liaise with parents and carers, keeping them informed of activities
Be sensitive and responsive to the needs of children, parents and carers as well as other members of staff
Work as part of a team

Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents

·         Support a commitment to the theory and practice of equal opportunities.

Feedback any issues or opportunities identified around the site that could impact on the quality of care provided

Support the team in the upkeep of base rooms, displays resources etc

Maintain a positive attitude at all times and ensure confidentiality is maintained

Be aware of the high reputation and uphold its standards

Attend and participate in out of work activities e.g. parents evenings, staff meetings

Be flexible with working practices of the setting

Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line management
