Early years apprentice - THE APPLE TREE PRIVATE DAY NURSERY LIMITED

Summary

The successful candidate will undertake any duties necessary, on an individual level or as part of a team, to care for the social, emotional, physical, and educational needs of the children in our care. They will also help plan and implement appropriate activities (indoor and outdoor) working within the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

· Help plan and implement appropriate activities (indoor and outdoor) working within the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

· Prepare and set up wall boards and displays.

· Serve and help prepare meals and snacks given to the children.

· Undertake cleaning duties necessary to promote high standards of childcare.

· To set up toys/areas for play.

· To leave the nursery tidy and secure.

· Be mindful at all times of the safety of the children.

· Always adhere to the nursery safeguarding policies and procedures.

· Take out any other duties deemed necessary to promote high standards of care, education, and safety within the setting.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Other requirements

• Take part in parent’s evenings and open days. • Comply with and keep updated with all the nursery policies and procedures. • Attend and take part in relevant training courses. Please research the location of Rochdale Training as well as the location of the employer to ensure that you can travel to both locations. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week). About this company

The Apple tree nursery was built in 2012 and provides care for children aged 6months to 5 years. We provide age specific rooms to provided children with the appropriate level of development for their age group. The Apple tree was rated Good in all areas by Ofsted
