Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Provide a secure, caring and friendly stimulating educational environment
- To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager
- Ensure children’s records are kept up to date
- Act as a positive practice role model to ensure that the nursery values are maintained
- Maintain high standards of safety, hygiene and cleanliness at all times
- Ensure that all rooms and outside areas are clean and tidy after use
- Liaise with parents and carers, keeping them informed of activities
- Be sensitive and responsive to the needs of children, parents and carers as well as other members of staff
- Work as part of a team
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with parents
- Support a commitment to the theory and practice of equal opportunities
- Feedback any issues or opportunities identified around the site that could impact on the quality of care provided
- Support the team in the upkeep of base rooms, displays resources etc
- Maintain a positive attitude at all times and ensure confidentiality is maintained
- Be aware of the high reputation and uphold its standards
- Attend and participate in out-of-work activities e.g. parents' evenings, staff meetings
- Be flexible with working practices of the setting
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by line management
