An exciting opportunity to join Eurofabs UK Limited as an Apprentice Fabricator Welder, learning fabrication, welding and manufacturing skills whilst working towards a Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Working within a busy engineering workshop, you will learn how to manufacture, assemble and weld a variety of metal products and components.

You will work alongside experienced fabricators and welders, developing practical engineering skills and gaining valuable industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the fabrication of metal components and assemblies
  • Learning MIG welding and basic fabrication techniques
  • Preparing materials for fabrication and assembly
  • Cutting, shaping and forming metal using workshop equipment
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Measuring and inspecting components to ensure accuracy
  • Supporting the assembly of fabricated products
  • Using hand tools, power tools and engineering equipment safely
  • Maintaining a clean and organised working environment
  • Following company quality procedures and health & safety regulations
  • Assisting with material handling and stock organisation
  • Working as part of a team to meet production deadlines
  • Supporting experienced engineers on fabrication and welding projects

As your skills develop, you will take on more responsibility and become involved in increasingly complex engineering and fabrication tasks.

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan

The apprentice will be based at Rochdale Training full-time for the first 6 months attending Diodes site multiple times throughout the first year. 

Requirements

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths preferred
  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English preferred
  • Design Technology, Engineering or Construction-related subjects desirable
  • Genuine interest in engineering, fabrication and welding
