Summary

HMS Welding has an apprentice Sheet Metal Worker apprentice position available with the successful the candidate working with experienced fabricators & welders. This is a great opportunity as you will be supported through to an Advanced Apprenticeship with the opportunity to go on to a higher Apprenticeship.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

You would be working across a varied product range, and your duties/training may include;

  • Understanding of materials
  • Understanding of fabrication drawings
  • Dimensional Inspection
  • Understanding of marking out using correct tools
  • Use of hand tools
  • Welding Tig/Mig
  • Clear understanding of Health & Safety & Procedures

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Training will take place both on-site at HMS Welding and weekly day release at the Rochdale Training.

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4 or above) essential
