Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant at Hollingworth Academy, you will work under the direction of teachers and other staff to provide learning support to students across various subjects and year groups.
Your main duties will include:
- Assisting teachers with classroom preparation and organisation
- Supporting pupils individually or in small groups to reinforce learning
- Helping manage pupil behaviour and promote positive engagement
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs or disabilities
- Assisting with the assessment of pupils’ progress and recording information
- Helping set up and clear away classroom materials and resources
- Supervising pupils during lessons, breaks, and school activities
- Promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and the school’s values at all times

- Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard
- Training delivered in partnership with Rochdale Training through a combination of workplace learning and off-the-job training
Requirements
Essential qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English (Grade Grade 4/C or above) essential
