Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Able to care for and supervise the children, regarding their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.
  • Work with the other staff team on planning and preparation of activities to meet children's individual needs.
  • Provide positive management of children's behaviour.
  • Be involved in the preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the playrooms and equipment.
  • Supervise meals/snack times
  • Adhere to the Policies & Procedures of Burnside Pre-School and compliance with the guidelines of Ofsted

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade Grade 4/C or above) essential
  • A Level Early Years (Grade Level 2) essential
