Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As a Childcare Apprentice, you will work alongside qualified staff to deliver high-quality care and learning opportunities to children aged 2–5. Your responsibilities will include: · Supporting children’s learning and development through structured play and activities · Assisting with feeding, toileting, and hygiene routines · Creating a safe and welcoming environment for all children · Observing and recording children’s progress in line with the EYFS framework · Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff · Participating in team meetings and training · Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene within the setting · Ensuring safeguarding and welfare procedures are always followed This role is ideal for someone looking to start their childcare journey in a supportive, experienced team.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

The role involves being on your feet, working indoors and outdoors May involve changing nappies and supporting toilet training Requires energy, patience, and responsibility.
