Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

  • Help plan and implement appropriate activities (indoor and outdoor) working within the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
  • Prepare and set up wall boards and displays.
  • Serve and help prepare meals and snacks given to the children.
  • Undertake cleaning duties necessary to promote high standards of childcare.
  • To set up toys/areas for play.
  • To leave the nursery tidy and secure.
  • Be mindful at all times of the safety of the children.
  • Always adhere to the nursery safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Take out any other duties deemed necessary to promote high standards of care, education, and safety within the setting.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade Grade 4 or above) essential
  • Other (NVQ) Early Years (Grade Level 2) essential

About this company

The Apple tree nursery was built in 2012 and provides care for children aged 6months to 5 years. We provide age specific rooms to provided children with the appropriate level of development for their age group. The Apple tree was rated Good in all areas by Ofsted
