Summary

This apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity for someone who already holds a Level 2 Childcare qualification and wants to progress their career within early years education while completing their Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Working within the nursery team, you will support the care, learning and development of children aged 6 months to 5 years in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.

You will work alongside experienced practitioners across different age groups, helping to deliver engaging activities and supporting children to develop socially, emotionally and academically.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
Assisting with play-based learning activities and creative experiences
Helping to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment
Supporting children during meal times, outdoor play and daily routines
Observing and recording children’s development and progress
Supporting children’s communication, social and emotional development
Working alongside parents and carers to support children’s needs
Assisting with maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic nursery environment
Supporting safeguarding and welfare procedures at all times
Working as part of a professional nursery team

The role may involve supporting children with additional needs or English as an additional language within an inclusive setting.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

· Level 2 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (essential)
· GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English (preferred)
