This apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity for someone who already holds a Level 2 Childcare qualification and wants to progress their career within early years education while completing their Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.

Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
Working within the nursery team, you will support the care, learning and development of children aged 6 months to 5 years in a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.
You will work alongside experienced practitioners across different age groups, helping to deliver engaging activities and supporting children to develop socially, emotionally and academically.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
- Assisting with play-based learning activities and creative experiences
- Helping to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment
- Supporting children during meal times, outdoor play and daily routines
- Observing and recording children’s development and progress
- Supporting children’s communication, social and emotional development
- Working alongside parents and carers to support children’s needs
- Assisting with maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic nursery environment
- Supporting safeguarding and welfare procedures at all times
- Working as part of a professional nursery team
The role may involve supporting children with additional needs or English as an additional language within an inclusive setting.

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

The apprentice will be based at Rochdale Training full-time for the first 6 months attending Diodes site multiple times throughout the first year.
Requirements
Essential qualifications

· Level 2 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (essential)
· GCSE Grade 4/C or above in Maths and English (preferred)
