An exciting opportunity to join Little Gems Nursery as an Early Years Educator Apprentice, supporting children's learning, development and wellbeing whilst completing a Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship.

£15,600.00 a year

The nursery operates term-time provision between 8:00am and 4:00pm.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Working alongside experienced nursery practitioners, you will support the care, learning and development of young children in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting children's learning and development through play-based activities
  • Assisting with the planning and delivery of engaging EYFS activities
  • Encouraging children's social, emotional, physical and communication development
  • Building positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
  • Supporting children's independence and confidence
  • Assisting with observations, assessments and learning records
  • Helping to create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting meal times and promoting healthy eating habits
  • Ensuring safeguarding and welfare procedures are followed at all times
  • Preparing and maintaining learning resources and play areas
  • Supporting outdoor learning and creative play opportunities
  • Contributing to children's daily care routines and wellbeing

As your skills and confidence develop, you will take increasing responsibility for supporting children's learning and development across the nursery.

Training

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Your training plan

The apprentice will be based at Rochdale Training full-time for the first 6 months attending Diodes site multiple times throughout the first year. 

Requirements

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE English Grade 4/C or above preferred
  • GCSE Maths Grade 4/C or above preferred
  • Level 2 qualification in Early Years or H&SC
  • A genuine interest in childcare and early years education
