Fabrication and Welding Apprentice

This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking for an apprenticeship and career within engineering and manufacturing. You will work with Stainless Steel, manufacturing our high-integrity systems. The apprenticeship will cover welding both Mild Steel and stainless steel using techniques such as MIG/MAG, TIG and Robotic Welding.

Reporting to the Production Supervision team, the role is based within the factory and successful candidates will receive on the job training and guidance from experienced and highly skilled personnel, duties will include:
- Covering all aspects of work within the factory
- Working with Galvanised Sheet Metal
- Making products for Smoke Systems , Ventalation and Extract
- Using various types of handtools, power tools and spot-welding techniques
- Working with Stainless Steel, manufacutring high intergrity systems.
Training will be given in the safe and proper use of the different machines used in the manufacturing process. This includes the
use of the CNC Press Brake, Laser Cutter, Iron Worker and various others.
Qualifications:
- GCSE or equivalent IT (Grade C / 4 and above) essential
- GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade C / 4 and above) essential
- A Level or equivalent N/A (Grade Pass) is desirable
Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Friday, 8:00 am to 1:30 pm
Salary:
Up to £20,048.08 a year
Progression:
Once qualified, progression is offered to the correct candidate.
Training:
- Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprenticeship Standard qualification
- Apprenticeship Training will take place both inside the workplace and outside at Rochdale Training, day release is to be confirmed with the employer
