Vacancy Full Description

As a Fabrication & Welding Apprentice at AMP Wire Ltd, you will work alongside experienced engineers and fabricators to develop practical skills across fabrication, welding and general workshop operations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with fabrication tasks including measuring, cutting and preparing metal components
  • Supporting welding operations (such as MIG welding) under supervision
  • Assisting with the manufacture and assembly of wire partitions and metal products
  • Learning to read and understand basic engineering drawings and specifications
  • Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely
  • Carrying out finishing work such as grinding, deburring and cleaning components
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment
  • Supporting quality checks and recording work completed
  • Attending off-the-job training to complete the Engineering Operative Level 2 Apprenticeship

This role provides a strong foundation in engineering and fabrication, ideal for someone looking to progress further within the manufacturing and welding industry.
