Leaving school I had no idea what to do or where to start. That’s when a family friend pointed me towards Rochdale Training, and looking back now, it was the best decision I ever made.
From the moment I stepped through their doors, I knew I was in the right place. Their Future Apprenticeship Foundation Course gave me the skills and confidence I needed to step into the workplace. I learned how to communicate effectively, work in a team, and solve problems—all skills that would later prove invaluable in my career.
A Foot in the Door at A.D.D Express
But the real game-changer? Work experience.
Through Rochdale Training, I was sent on placement to A.D.D Express, a well-established logistics company. I put in the effort to show my dedication, enthusiasm, and work ethic—and it paid off. One of the company directors, saw something in me. He recognised my drive and ambition and offered me a permanent role.
Climbing the Ladder
I gave it my all, taking on more tasks whenever I could, and before I knew it, I was moving up! Norman approached me again—this time with an opportunity to move into the transport office. I was over the moon! I had proved myself, and my hard work was paying off.
Since then, I’ve been promoted multiple times and even had three well-earned salary increases. Now, as a Transport Coordinator, I help manage a fleet of 40+ trucks alongside an amazing team.
Looking to the Future
My journey with A.D.D Express is far from over—I see a bright future ahead. But I wouldn’t be where I am today without Rochdale Training. Their program didn’t just teach me skills; it gave me an opportunity—and I ran with it.
