Standard Title

HR Support Level 3

Brief Description

HR Professionals in this role are typically either working in a medium to large organisation as part of the HR function delivering front line support to managers and employees or are a HR Manager in a small organisation. Their work is likely to include handling day to day queries and providing HR advice; working on a range of HR processes, ranging from transactional to relatively complex, from recruitment through to retirement; using HR systems to keep records; providing relevant HR information to the business; working with the business on HR changes. They will typically be taking ownership for providing advice to managers on a wide range of HR issues using company policy and current law, giving guidance that is compliant and where errors could expose the organisation to employment tribunals or legal risk. In a larger organisation they may also have responsibility for managing a small team – this aspect is outside the scope of this apprenticeship and will need to be covered separately by the employer.

What will you learn

Understands the structure of the organisation; the products and services it delivers; the external market and sector within which it operates; where their role fits in the organisation; the ‘Values’ by which it operates and how these apply to their role.

Basic understanding of HR in their sector and any unique features.

Understands the role and focus of HR within the organisation; its business plan / priorities and how these apply to their role.

Understands the systems, tools and processes used in the role, together with the standards to be met, including the core HR systems used by the organisation.

The training will include

Face to face and/or remote workshops together with online learning

1:1 support from a Tutor who will visit your workplace

Progress reviews to be completed with your Tutor and line manager

Development of a work-based portfolio to evidence learning

End-point assessment (EPA)

Functional Skills English and/or maths Level 2, if required

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements.

In order to complete the apprenticeship, you will need English and maths at Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE grade 9-4), but if you don’t have these qualifications don’t let this stop you from undertaking the apprenticeship as we can help you gain the Level 2 requirement during your studies

Duration

18 months plus 3 months EPA

Professional Membership

The successful apprentice may be eligible to apply for Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or any other professional body that recognises this apprenticeship within its membership criteria (membership is subject to the professional bodies own membership requirements).

 

Standard Title

Recruitment Resourcer Standard Level 2

Brief Description

A recruitment resourcer may be employed in any organisation that requires a recruitment function. Their role is to identify, attract and shortlist candidates for the recruitment process to fulfil the requirements of the business brief and provide resourcing support to the recruitment function. They may also be required to identify new business opportunities.

A career in recruitment as a recruitment resourcer can appeal to those individuals who possess an entrepreneurial outlook. It provides the opportunity for reward and high earning potential. Many opportunities arise for professional and personal development within the recruitment sector with transferable skills being respected throughout industry as a whole.

The candidate attraction and selection processes

The legal, regulatory and ethical requirements and appropriate codes of practice when resourcing

Recruitment sales techniques and processes and how to support them

Market rates and conditions within their sector

How to initiate, build and maintain relationships with candidates

The principles and importance of using research, for resourcing, including:

    • quantitative and qualitative research methods
    • research validity and reliability
    • sources of research information

The recruitment industry and the principles of the recruitment models

Employee rights and responsibilities including equality, diversity and inclusion

The training will include

Face to face and/or remote workshops together with online learning

12 months plus 3 months EPA

Professional Membership

Learners who complete these qualifications will be eligible for professional registration of the Institute of Recruitment Professionals or Institute of Recruiters.

 

 

Standard Title

Recruitment Consultant Standard Level 3

Brief Description

Predominantly employed within the recruitment sector, the recruitment consultant’s role is to identify and secure job opportunities within client organisations. They attract candidates and successfully place them in those jobs in return for a fee. A recruitment consultant may focus on the supply of flexible workers, permanent placements or a combination of both.

A career in recruitment as a recruitment consultant can appeal to those individuals who possess an entrepreneurial outlook. It provides the opportunity for reward and high earning potential. Many opportunities arise in the recruitment sector for personal and professional development, such as team leader and or managerial roles.

What will you learn

Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Recruitment or Level 3 Certificate in Recruitment Practice

Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Recruitment

How to establish, negotiate and agree terms and conditions of business with clients

The different recruitment models (e.g. Temporary, Permanent, Contract Recruitment, Executive Search etc)

How to ensure candidates and clients receive a professional and comprehensive recruitment service

How to develop successful sales techniques for recruitment

The principles of assessing people

Candidate pay, client charge rates and contractual conditions within their sector in order to consult with and advise candidates and clients

The legal, regulatory and ethical requirements and appropriate codes of practice when recruiting
