Are you looking to get into Health and Social Care? This Health & Social Care Course consists of six short sharp units which will give you the knowledge required to start a career within the Adult Social Care Sector. You will receive two level-one qualifications along with help and support from industry experts on how to gain employment in this sector.

Sessions are on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week for 4 weeks. Content Covered: |
Week 1, Session 1&2 | Introduction to Adult Social Care, The Types of Social Care Support available to Adults. The range of jobs available in Adult Social Care, The Values and principles of Adult Social Care and the importance of diversity within Adult Social Care. |
Week 2, Session 3&4 | Awareness of the skills and attitudes needed to work in Health and Social Care, Awareness of communication in Adult Social Care, including sector-specific terminology and the importance of record-keeping |
Week 3, Session 5&6 | Awareness of the roles and responsibilities of an Adult Care Worker including duty of care and person-centred approaches. Workshop to complete outstanding workbooks. |
Week 4, Session 7&8 | What is meant by mental health and what are the effects of mental health? How we respond to mental health issues and cultural diversity. |
Entry Requirements:
- This programme is restricted to those aged 19 and over due to funding
- You must be committed for the full duration of the course
- Live or work in Greater Manchester
- Photo identification required
