Maintenance Apprentice - XTI Ltd

XTI Ltd is seeking a motivated Maintenance Apprentice to join their engineering team. This role will provide hands-on experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance, repair, testing and operations of bespoke engineering equipment — all while working towards a nationally recognised Level 3 apprenticeship.

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

As a Maintenance Apprentice at XTI Ltd, you will play an important role supporting the workshop, repair and production teams to maintain, diagnose, test and repair high-spec CCTV drain inspection equipment and other bespoke manufactured products. You will develop broad technical skills on electrical and mechanical maintenance, assembly, fault diagnosis and workshop operations.

Your main duties will include:

  • Supporting engineers with maintenance and repair work on CCTV inspection systems, including mechanical and electrical components
  • Assisting with diagnosing faults and repairing equipment returned for service
  • Supporting assembly and testing of products before dispatch
  • Learning to use hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment safely
  • Helping maintain accurate completion and diagnostic records
  • Participating in planned preventative maintenance activities
  • Assisting with inspections, quality checks and calibration of equipment
  • Following company health & safety procedures at all times
  • Working collaboratively as part of a small engineering team

This role offers real hands-on experience in a workshop environment, developing practical engineering skills foundational to a long-term career in maintenance, manufacturing and repair services.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade Grade 4/C or above) desirable
