Rochdale Training is looking for two experienced engineering professionals to join our team as Engineering Training Officers. This is an opportunity to use your industry knowledge and practical engineering experience to support, develop and inspire the next generation of engineers. For nearly 60 years, Rochdale Training has worked alongside employers across the region, providing high-quality apprenticeship and skills training and helping people build successful careers.

We're particularly interested in people with experience in:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Maintenance Engineering
  • Engineering Fitting
  • Fabrication & Welding
  • Machining / Manufacturing Engineering
  • Multi-skilled Engineering

The Role

As an Engineering Training Officer, you'll support engineering apprentices throughout their apprenticeship, working with learners both at Rochdale Training and in the workplace.

You'll:

  • Coach, mentor and support engineering apprentices
  • Deliver engaging teaching, workshops and one-to-one support
  • Assess apprentices' skills, knowledge and behaviours
  • Visit apprentices and employers in the workplace
  • Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Prepare apprentices for exams, assessments and End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Carry out regular learner and employer progress reviews
  • Work closely with employers to ensure training meets their needs
  • Coordinate training with our engineering workshop team
  • Maintain accurate learner records and individual training plans
  • Provide Information, Advice and Guidance throughout the apprenticeship
  • Support learners to successfully complete their apprenticeship and progress in their engineering career

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong engineering knowledge with the ability to communicate, motivate and develop others.You will have:

  • Occupational competence and significant experience within Engineering
  • A minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification
  • A good understanding of engineering practices and industry expectations
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with apprentices and employers
  • A commitment to helping people develop and succeed

Experience of apprenticeships, assessment, teaching, curriculum development or apprenticeship standards would be an advantage.
