SAFE USE AND INSPECTION OF HARNESS AND LANYARDS
Who is this course aimed at?
Personnel who must carry out or supervise any projects when working at height which may involve the use of harnesses. This course would suit managers, charge hands and supervisors who also manage any work at height that would require the use of harnesses
Course Content:
- Legislation and regulations.
- Inspection and maintenance requirements for harnesses.
- Record keeping and issuing requirements for harnesses.
- Hazard and control measures to arrest the fall of personnel who are required to either work or supervise work in exposed areas.
- Relevant standards, certificates of conformity.
- Rescue plans and equipment
Aims and Objectives of the course:
Attendees should complete the service with an understanding of the necessary control measures required for safe working at heights, and with the ability to assess and suitably deal with the risks arising when working at height.
Managers and supervisors will be able to assess whether their work force are working at height safely and in harmony with current safe working practices.
Method:
Lecture, mixed media with a CD Handout, Practical demonstration, with a theory and practical assessment.
Duration:
1 Day
Achievement:
A 3 year certificate of training in an awareness of the safe working at height practices.
Delegate experience:
A working knowledge of harnesses would be an advantage but is not essential. All delegates MUST be physically fit and able to carry out any
practical during the service
PPE required:
This is classroom based training so no PPE is required.
