Sheet metal/welder apprentice

Summary

Bells sheet metal are looking to recruit a team member who will be trained in all aspects of sheet metal work to a high standard

This will include tig welding, cnc bending, sawing, drilling,  tapping, rolling, polishing, and many other skills

We work mainly in stainless steel for the pharmaceutical and food industry

The roll is very varied as most jobs are bespoke

You will need a keen eye for detail and take a pride in the work you produce

Annual wage

£14,526.20 a year

The pay may be negotiated and may rise after a probation period has been successfully completed.

Monday to Thursday 8-5pm

Friday 8am-1pm

Work

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work

Bells Sheet Metal Ltd is a sheet metal fabrication supplier to the pharmaceutical & food industries.  We pride ourselves on having some of the most highly skilled sheet metal fabricators in the industry. Our team manufactures pharmaceutical and food grade stainless steel fabrications to the highest standards.

We are looking to recruit a Sheet Metal Apprentice who will be working across the operation in a varied engineering role.

Duties and training will include:

  • Sheet laser cutting
  • Tube laser cutting
  • CNC punching
  • CNC bending
  • Reading CAD drawings
  • Accurately measuring
  • Welding – using MIG, TIG and Spotwelding

You will be trained on a variety of disciplines and will be multi skilled.

This is a great opportunity as the successful candidates will be supported through to an Advanced Apprenticeship with the opportunity to go on to a Higher Apprenticeship

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

Requirements

Essential qualifications

  • Maths and English grade 4 / GCSE grade C

Let the company know about other relevant qualifications and industry experience you have. They can adjust the apprenticeship to reflect what you already know.
