THOROUGH INSPECTION TRAINING FOR LADDERS AND STEPLADDERS
Who is this course aimed at?
Personnel who, as part of their operational duties, must in accordance with legislation carry out a thorough examination of ladders and stepladders.
Managers and supervisors will be able to assess whether their work force are using equipment safely and in harmony with current safe working practices.

- Legislation and regulations.
- Safe use of ladders
- Inspection and maintenance requirements for ladders and stepladders.
- Record keeping and issuing requirements for ladders and stepladders.
- Relevant standards, manufacturers information and accessories
- Ladder components
- Stepladder components
- Fault identification and reporting
- Disposal requirements
Aims and Objectives of the course:
Attendees should complete the service with an understanding of and the ability to assess and suitably deal with the risks arising when working at height which may involve the use of Ladders and stepladders, including an ability to inspect and keep the required documentation on file in line with the current regulations and approved codes of practice. It is also an objective that the delegate can identify non-conforming product and demonstrate further action required.

Lecture, theory assessment, practical training and assessments.

A 3 year certificate of training
Delegate experience:
A working knowledge of Ladders and stepladders would be an advantage but not essential. All delegates MUST be physically fit and able to carry out practical handling of ladders and stepladders.
PPE required:
Suitable hard hat, gloves and boots
