Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
- Fully programme, set up, and operate turning, milling and grinding machines,
- Work independently and produce complex helical form components within a set time frame and in accordance with the drawing,
- Write programmes to achieve the required component specification and form.
- Check and measure own work using conventional measurement techniques (micrometers/gauges/verniers), identify and rectify errors,
- Maintain a tidy and well-organized work area and perform regular machine maintenance tasks.
- Offer suggestions for improvements and support the business with lean programmes.

Essential qualifications
- GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4 or above) essential

After this apprenticeship
- Once you have acquired the necessary skills this opens the door for you to be considered for vacancies within the Company and these may include such roles as Mechanical Fitter, Electrical Fitter, CNC Machine Operator, CMM Inspector and Maintenance Engineer. With further training often our apprentices can progress to technical role such as Design Technician, Quality Engineer, Production Engineer and Controls Engineer.
